This course considers the unequal distribution of wealth, prestige, knowledge, and power in the U.S., and makes comparisons to other societies. How does inequality get reproduced from one generation to the next? How does inequality affect students today? This course examines the role of social networks, as well as the interconnections between class, race/ethnicity, and gender.
