Special Session Course Information
Special Session courses are approved university course offerings for academic degree or professional development. They are a great way to meet student demand, explore new course ideas, reach an expanded audience of learners, and teach in a flexible schedule.
Offering a Special Session course requires an academic department and college approval. If you are interested in teaching a course, please submit a special session course proposal for our review. Developing New Online Programs
Are you interested in developing new or expanding existing online programs? Review the campus Guidelines for Online Program Development, a helpful, non-policy guiding document designed to provide support for those who are interested in the strategic development of online programs: why, how, and when to develop self-support or state-support online programs.
Non-Credit & Professional Development Offerings
Professional & Continuing Education offers classes and workshops designed to provide learning opportunities on a non-credit basis. They require only the approval of the Professional & Continuing Education.
- Formal admission to California State University, Chico is not required.
- The program is administered through the Chico State Enterprises.
- Participant fees are what you determine.
- Compensation is divided 50/50 between Continuing Education and the instructor, with a percentage to Chico State Enterprises.

We are recruiting qualified instructors to join our team of instructors who meet the needs of our new and expanding programs. Classes can be held in the daytime, evenings, and weekends. Program areas include project management, materials management, purchasing management, manufacturing and distribution, processing industries, human resources, non-profit administration, engineering, finance, insurance, real estate as well as all areas of information technology including Web development, e-commerce, network administration, application training, and the digital arts.
