Chico State Special Session

Whether your goal is to take a class to finish a degree, complete a certificate, or simply earn a few units of academic credit, Special Session courses let you earn credit toward your academic goal. Special Session courses are approved courses offered in addition to the University’s regular semester schedule.

Benefits of Special Session

  • Admission to Chico State is not required
  • Courses meet residence requirements
  • Units may be applied toward a degree program
  • Fees are charged on a per-unit basis

Registration

You can register online through this website, by calling Professional & Continuing Education at 530-898-6105, or visiting us in Colusa Hall

If you are enrolled in a specific academic program with scheduled classes, please visit your program page for registration links.

  1. Select the course(s) you want from the Continuing Education Class Schedule or use the links sent to you for a specific program.
  2. Choose Online from the Registration Options menu and click Register Now.
  3. From the Shopping Cart screen, click Checkout. We accept VISA and Mastercard.
  4. Enter your student and payment information to complete your registration request.
  5. Please review our registration policies and save a copy of your confirmation.

Graduate School Adjunct Enrollment GRST 899

If you are pursuing a master's degree, you must enroll each semester until the degree is awarded. Continuous enrollment may be maintained either through registration as a matriculated student or through adjunct enrollment. Adjunct enrollment consists of registration in GRST 899 through Continuing Education. Simply find the term you are interested in and enroll in GRST 899 online, at the Continuing Education office on campus, or by phone, (530) 898-6105.

Campus Resources

Student Health Center services are available for an additional fee and must be paid by the university census date for the term of enrollment.

  • Student enrolled in 6 or more Special Session or Open University units

Wildcat Recreation Center is available for an additional fee. The following have the opportunity to purchase a WREC guest membership for the term.
