Winter Session Grants

Winter Session Grants Available$720 need-based grants are available to help you make Winter Session part of your degree plan. To be considered for a grant, you must:

  • Be an admitted Chico State student (including spring '25 admits)
  • Submit a grant application
  • Have a '24-'25 financial aid application on file
  • Have an SAI of $8,000 or less
  • Be enrolled in 3 or more units in Winter Session

Grant funds are limited. Only one grant may be awarded per student.

Recently Admitted & Starting in Spring 2025?

If you are a new Chico State undergraduate, or a graduate student admitted or readmitted for spring 2025, submit a registration request and payment through the Winter Session class schedule on our website. If you receive a grant, you will be reimbursed for the difference. 

Grant Applications Are Now Open!

  1. Register for a Winter Session class.
  2. Complete the online application form.
  3. Continuing Education will confirm your eligibility and email you of your grant status.
  4. After you've been notified, pay fees due to complete your class registration by December 12.

 

Important Notes:

  • Only one grant may be awarded per student.
  • Winter Session Grants apply only to Winter Session per-unit fees and may not be used toward past debts, spring fees, etc.
  • Students enrolled in a special session program or have fees paid by a third party (e.g., Department of Rehabilitation or VA Benefits) are not eligible for PCE grants.
  • Registration requests are not complete until fees are paid. However, if you have applied for a Winter Session Grant, please wait until you have been notified of your application status to determine fees owed and make your fee payment.

     
* The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after fees are initially charged or initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees. All listed fees, other than mandatory systemwide fees, are subject to change without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, or the Presidents, as appropriate. Changes in mandatory system-wide fees will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Working Families Student Fee Transparency and Accountability Act (Sections 66028 - 66028.6 of the Education Code).
