Examination of the theories and empirical research relevant to physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development from the prenatal period through adolescence. Influences such as family, peers, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and media are also examined. The interaction between nature and nurture on developmental outcomes is interwoven throughout the course.
