This course explores current public health problems, including social and environmental factors influencing health, and how the public health systems works to control diseases and promote health. Students will understand the historical foundations of public health and how these foundations influence how practitioners address contemporary public health issues. Students will think critically about how both individuals and our society as a whole can positively impact our world's most pressing public health issues.
