Field Experience SLP Assistant

Fall 2025: August 25-December 19

Description

Students complete a minimum of 110 hours of clinical fieldwork in the tasks necessary to effectively work as a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), including clinical documentation, staffing time (i.e. attending IEP meetings, team conferences, and staff meetings), lesson planning, and therapy preparation under the supervision of a licensed SLP supervisor. Supervision provided by a Speech-Language Pathologist with a State license and preferably a current American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certificate of Clinical Competence.
Prerequisite: CMSD 500.

Application and approval required. Open to approved students for the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Licensure Pathway.
