Description

This course introduces the practice of quantum computation and algorithms in computer science. Topics covered include the mathematics to understand the relationship between physical systems and quantum computation. Algorithms to be implemented include Deutsch?s mapped function algorithm, Grover's search algorithm, Simon?s periodicity algorithm, and Shor?s prime factorization algorithm. Other concepts include quantum error correction, and quantum cryptography. Students will develop their code on a quantum computer.
Prerequisites: CSCI 311 with a grade of C or higher; MATH 109, MATH 120, or MATH 315.
