Class Notes

MS in Psychology (MFT) graduate students are required by California state law to be registered in a practicum/traineeship course during the summer if they wish to accrue traineeship hours that count toward MFT licensure. This 1-unit course satisfies this legal requirement. At the beginning of the summer students meet with the instructor (via Zoom if required) for traineeship orientation, to verify placements, and to review the required paperwork and procedures for this course. During the summer students work at their off-campus placement agencies where they gain experience providing therapy services. At the end of summer students meet with the instructor (via Zoom if required) to submit required documentation (e.g., Weekly Summary of Hours forms, supervisor verification forms, trainee and supervisor evaluation forms, and student reports about their experiences as trainees during the summer). This course is open only to MS in Psychology graduate students who meet the eligibility requirements for PSYC 687.
