Greece travel course. Application and $450 deposit due by March 13, see https://rce.csuchico.edu/passport for details. Political and cultural developments in the Greek world from the time of the Slavic invasions through the birth of the modern nation state in the 19th century. Transformation under the centralized Byzantine Empire, the Latin Empire of the crusaders, and the Venetian and Ottoman empires. Key themes include transitions in politics, economics, literature, art and architecture, society, and the construction of the modern state. 3 hours lecture. Requires additional enrollment in HIST 301.
