This course studies relationships between ethnic groups outside of the U.S. Consideration is given to ethnic identities, interactions, competition, conflict over resources, cultural preservation, the development of nationalism, and state policies.

Southeast Asia travel course. Application and $500 deposit due by April 1, see https://rce.csuchico.edu/passport for details. This faculty led study abroad course will take students to Chiang Mai, Thailand between June 9 to July 4. Students will study relationships between ethnic groups in Southwest China and Southeast Asia. Consideration is given to ethnic identities, interactions, competition, conflict over resources, cultural preservation, the development of nationalism and state policies. Required enrollment in ANTH 338.
