ElderCollege Registration

If you are interested in participating in the ElderCollege program, follow these steps to get started:

  1. Come to the next ElderCollege orientation to learn more about the program and pick up a registration packet. If you aren't able to attend the orientation meeting, you can download the registration packet or call Continuing Education at 898-6105 to request that a copy be mailed to you.
  2. Select the class(es) you would like to attend from the CSU, Chico schedule of courses available on the Chico State website. Course descriptions are available in the CSU, Chico catalog and online. Changes to the class schedule are reflected in daily updates to the online course schedule. Internet access is available at the campus computer stations in the BMU and in Meriam Library.
  3. Attend the first class and ask for permission to participate as an ElderCollege guest in the class. Included in the registration packet is a "Dear Professor" letter from the Dean of Regional & Continuing Education that introduces you to the instructor as a potential ElderCollege student. Have the professor confirm approval of your participation by signing your registration form
  4. After the first class, bring the completed registration form and $60 fee (payable by check, VISA, MasterCard, or money order) to Regional & Continuing Education. If you apply after the deadline noted in the registration packet, an additional $10 fee will be charged.

Dropping A Class

If you wish to drop your ElderCollege course(s), you may drop by the fourth Friday of the semester ("census date") for a $15 processing fee. After that date, no refunds will be given.

Parking & Campus Services

Parking spaces on and near the campus are limited. University parking lots have permit dispensers for hourly permits or you can purchase a student semester-long parking permit online. Additional parking is available in the City of Chico metered lots.

Upon request, you will receive a temporary library card when your registration has been completed. A university ID card may be obtained from the Wildcat ID office located in Meriam Library, room 142 for an additional small fee.
