  • Enrollment Now Open for the 2010 Localization Certification Program and Localization Project Management Certification

    In partnership with The Localization Institute, California State University, Chico Center for Regional and Continuing Education announces that enrollment is now open for the Localization Certification Program and Localization Project Management Certification. Established in 2006, the Localization Certification Program was developed by industry experts, representing the leading professional associations, publishers, and academic institutions, under the leadership of Professor Nitish Singh. The program was created in response to the growing demand from localization and international marketing professionals for industry-focused localization training. More than 355 participants from 35 countries have now received certification through the program.

    Please make plans to join us for our next ElderCollege Orientation which will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in the Continuing Education classroom on the Chico State campus. If you are sixty (60) or older, you are eligible for ElderCollege. ElderCollege allows you to attend University courses on a non-credit basis with the permission of the professor.     The Center for Regional and Continuing Education remains committed to our mission of extending the reach of the University to meet lifelong learning needs in a responsive and flexible manner.

    The California State budget cuts have resulted in the implementation of State Budget Closure Days as part of the employee furlough program designed to reduce costs in light of unprecedented budget gaps. As a result, our offices will be closed from time to time, in addition to holidays and other regularly scheduled breaks.

  • GRE Preparation Workshop

    Taking the GRE? Learn how to maximize your test-taking potential! The workshop will be held on Saturdays between September 26th and October 17th, 2009. This workshop emphasizes analyzing and reviewing each of the sections: quantitative reasoning; verbal reasoning (antonyms, analogies, sentence completion and reading comprehension); and the analytical writing assessment. A short review of mathematics is also included. The books included in the course fee are Cliffs Test Prep GRE General Test Guide and Cliffs Math Review for Standardized Tests by Jerry Bobrow.   • SAT Preparation Course

    Be prepared for the November 7th SAT exam! A 2 part preparation workshop is being conducted Saturday October 24th and 31st, 2009. This workshop is designed to prepare students for the SAT by reviewing all of the question types, including the new writing sections (essay and multiple choice). Half of the class will focus on math (with the enhanced math question types also covered), and the other half will cover Critical Reading, Sentence Completion, and the Writing sections (essay and multiple choice). The classes are taught by credentialed teachers who specialize in mathematics or English. The book included in the course fee is Cliffs Test Prep, The New SAT Preparation Guide by Jerry Bobrow.   • ElderCollege Orientation August 18th

    CSU, Chico ElderCollege Orientation for fall semester is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th, 2009. The presentation begins at 10 AM in the Continuing Education classroom on campus.

    ElderCollege allows individuals, 60 and older, to attend University courses on a non-credit, guest basis for a nominal fee, with the permission of the instructor.

  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Fall Welcome Reception

    The Fall Welcome Reception for all new and continuing Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) participants will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2009, from 10am-noon at the Chico Masonic Family Center, 1110 W. East Avenue, Chico.

    OLLI is a peer-led, learning in retirement organization that offers participants, 60 and older, the chance to explore new topics, discuss current events, and network with other talented and interesting people.
