CHICO >> Daniel Caravez was helping his girlfriend with her homework one evening when he started thinking that maybe he should go back to school.
“I remember her coming ba ck home with homework and I thought, ‘If I’m helping her, maybe I should be in school’,” Caravez said.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSU, Chico has unveiled its summer term class schedule. Culture and creativity feature heavily in the summer offerings, which include a new Local Theater Club, the 2nd Annual OLLI Play Festival, Art Journaling, Creating Your Own Cartoon Characters, Movies at the Pageant Theatre, and Tuesday Tunes. Two local museums are also featured. Pat Macias, President of monca – Museum of Northern California Art – will lead “Four Mysteries of a Museum,” and Adrienne Scott, Curator of Education of the Valene L.
OLLI at CSU, Chico’s Spring 2016 term is a cultural feast that celebrates wide-ranging interests in history, literature, the natural and social sciences, fine arts, and current events. CHICO, CA—Next month, Joe Goode Performance Group, a San Francisco based dance company, will collaborate with members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) during a residency at CSU, Chico, hosted by Chico Performances, the university’s presenting program. CHICO, CA — The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSU, Chico has been awarded a $50,000 operating grant by The Bernard Osher Foundation. OLLI at CSU, Chico was invited to apply for the grant after demonstrating significant progress over the past year toward improving fiscal stability, increasing volunteer participation, and expanding campus and community partnerships.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSU, Chico is partnering with the Butte County Library in an engaging summer speaker series called “Because You Asked!” This unique educational program is made possible by a generous grant from the California State Library and will showcase local subject experts at five library branches each month from June to August.
