Early Start at CSU, ChicoThe Early Start Program at CSU, Chico is an enrollment requirement for first-time freshmen who need help getting ready for college-level English and/or math. The goal of Early Start is to better prepare them in math and English before their first semester even begins so that they have a better chance of completing a college degree.

The application period for the Bernard Osher Foundation Reentry Scholarship in now open.

Scholarships are awarded to reentry students whose studies were interrupted for at least five years by circumstances beyond their control, and who now want to resume their studies at CSU, Chico. The deadline for scholarship applications is Monday, May 13, 2013, 5:00 p.m. Scholarship details and an online application are available at:

Founders Week Highlights School’s Heritage of Success

The 2013 Founders Week begins Friday, April 5, with the Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner and concludes Sunday, April 14, with the Heritage Circle Luncheon for donors who have included CSU, Chico in their estate plans.

CSU, Chico Once Again Ranked Sixth Among Western Public Universities by U.S. News

California State University, Chico is ranked sixth among regional public universities in the Western United States in the 2011 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” from U.S. News & World Report magazine. U.S. News & World Report’s regional category, known as master’s level last year, includes universities that offer undergraduate and master’s programs but few doctoral programs.

This designation demonstrates to meeting planners that Chico is a high quality meeting location with an experienced conference director who can act as the point of contact for a successful event.
