PLTW’s world-class, activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum and high-quality teacher professional development, combined with an engaged network of educators and corporate partners, help students develop the skills they need to be successful in post-secondary education and beyond.


Did you attend Launch, AR or POE core training last summer but would like some additional guidance with the material? Or did you attend training several years ago and need a refresher on using VEX or VEX IQ kits? Then consider attending one of our North State VEX refresher workshops! Refresher workshops are a great way to get more PLTW professional development in a relaxed environment.

Thanks to the generosity of Chevron, the refresher workshops are absolutely free and lunch will be provided. Space is limited though, so register online before they fill.

The City of Chico is located 90 miles north of Sacramento in the northern end of the lush Sacramento Valley. With an urban population of just over 100,000, Chico has the charm of a small town, with all the amenities of a big city. Downtown Chico is within a block of campus and offers a wide variety of shopping, dining, and cultural experiences. Bidwell Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the country at 3,670 acres, stretches nearly 11 miles from campus east into the foothills and provides year-round recreation activities.

In 2014, Project Lead The Way trained more than 6,000 teachers using its rigorous approach. PLTW’s three-phase professional development model focuses on preparing teachers with the professional skills necessary to get students engaged in learning the STEM disciplines and focused on seeking solutions. Training is conducted in partnership with more than 50 colleges, universities, and other institutions.


Solving America’s workforce skills gap takes commitment from the public and private sectors. Project Lead The Way is creating outstanding partnerships with leading corporations, philanthropic organizations, and educational institutions, such as Chico State. PLTW has alliances with nearly 100 leading corporations like Chevron, Lockheed Martin, Autodesk, and many others.
