Spring 2013 Admission:

It is Chico State’s intention to open the application period for our three online degree programs for the spring 2013 semester from August 1-31. When the spring 2013 application period opens there are two important criteria prospective students must meet:

  1. They must be fully eligible upper division transfer students. All required coursework must be completed by the end of the fall 2012 term, and
  2. They must have completed 30 or more units from one or more of the six feeder community colleges: Butte, Feather River, College of the Siskiyous, Shasta, Lassen, and Yuba.

Please keep in mind that admission information is subject to change. Currently the Admission webpage states the University is closed for spring 2013. We expect that webpage to be updated soon.

Prospective students who do not meet the above criteria will not have an opportunity to apply for the spring 2013 term unless they are completing the Associate Degree for Transfer, which was made possible through SB 1440. If you are interested in enrolling in online courses prior to admission, please see "Open University" below.

When the application period begins, prospective students apply for admission to a program and to the University online at http://www.csumentor.edu/AdmissionApp/undergrad_apply.asp. This includes the link to the application form. For application information for transfer students, please check the Admissions Office web site at http://www.csuchico.edu/admissions/want-to-apply/transfer/index.shtml. Also, please see the step-by-step instructions for filling out the CSU Mentor application on our web site at http://rce.csuchico.edu/online/applicationinstructions.asp. The application fee is $55 and includes a complete evaluation of your transcripts. When you fill out the application be sure to select the online major – “Online Liberal Studies BA," “Social Science Online: Breadth (BA),” “Social Science Online: Depth BA,” or “Online Sociology (BA).”

Please note that if you have any questions regarding applications you may call the Admissions Office at 530-898-6322 or toll-free at 1-800-542-4426. The email address is info@csuchico.edu.

We anticipate the next opportunity for prospective students who do not meet the above criteria will be for the fall 2013 term. The application dates are October 1, 2012 through November 30, 2012.

To receive an email alert when the application criteria are announced for fall 2013, please complete this information request form.
