Online Instruction
Self-paced, online instruction focuses on localization and international e-business concepts and progresses through a series of modules that highlight winning strategies, budgeting, ROI, project management, content management, vendor management, and additional localization challenges, technologies and solutions. Instruction utilizes using a combination of online video presentations, PowerPoint, lecture notes, and self-quizzes. Online content is developed with the help of our faculty experts, MultiLingual magazine, and industry experts.
Hands-on Workshop
After completing the online instruction, you will join our team of experts for an intensive three-day workshop. Faculty and experts from the industry will present the latest approaches, tools, and applications. In addition, you will receive hands-on software training in localization tools and technologies. Past workshops have featured industry experts and guest speakers from companies such as Google, HP, Microsoft, Cisco, and Lionbridge.
Certification Exam
The Localization Certification exam is administered on the final day of the workshop. Certification is offered by California State University, Chico Continuing Education, The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), and The Localization Institute. In addition, the program has been approved for American Translators Association (ATA) continuing education credits. 10 ATA credits are awarded for the completion of the online modules and 10 ATA credits for completion of the hands-on workshop.
Program fees include access to online modules, registration for the three day on-site workshop, test fees for the Localization Certification Exam, program materials, coffee and snacks during the workshop. All fees are due at the time of registration. Fees are non-refundable.
