Course Description: 

We focus on applying sociological knowledge beyond the classroom. We practice explaining sociological insights to non-sociologists through the news, social media, and other public and private forums. We also learn to put sociology to use in our jobs, community, families, organizations, social movements, and other everyday settings. The main topic varies from semester to semester.

Prerequisites: Completion of GE Written Communication (A2) requirement, SOCI 300, SOCI 310, senior standing.

“Class has scheduled regular meeting days and times; students have the opportunity (but are usually not required) to attend the streaming lecture and participate online in real-time. If students cannot attend the streaming lecture and participate in real-time, then students are required to watch an archived recording of the class lecture.
This is a Chico Distance & Online Education class. Only students who are registered in an online degree program or who reside outside of Chico and have contacted Regional and Continuing Education prior to enrollment (530-898-6105) will be permitted to enroll in this section.
Prerequisites: SOCI 300 and 310. This course is restricted to Sociology majors.
