ALCI Chico welcomes 13 Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU) students from Taiwan. This is the fourth year CYCU students will take part in the ALCI Chico Summer English Program on campus. The program schedule includes morning English language classes with afternoon conversation and cultural activities. The CYCU students will take part in an exciting Sacramento river rafting trip run by Adventure Outings along with several other events and activities during their 4 week stay. The program runs from through July 30.

Dantona Is President-Elect of the American Association of Intensive English Programs
William Dantona, director of the American Language and Culture Institute at California State University, Chico (ALCI Chico), has been elected to serve as president-elect of the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP).
The American Language & Culture Institute (ALCI) welcomes 15 students from NIC International College in Tokyo, Japan. The students, who will arrive in Chico on June 23, 2010, will be taking part in the 19th annual Summer Bridge Program on the Chico State campus. Summer Bridge is an intensive, six-week schedule of English language, culture, and academic preparation courses and activities. The courses, presented according to skill level, enable the visiting student an opportunity to learn English and prepare for academic study.

This week, the American Language & Culture Institute (ALCI) welcomes a new group of international students from around the globe to CSU, Chico. These students will be participating in a program of intensive English language instruction, and a variety of social and cultural activities. If you’d like to make a cross-cultural connection, sign up to be a Conversation Partner! ALCI’s Conversation Partners program pairs international students with American students and members of our University community. Partners meet weekly to chat in informal situations, allowing ALCI students to improve their English and learn about American society.
