This course explores the logic and styles of sociological research, focusing on the methods of formulating research problems, the design of social research, and techniques for ensuring the quality and validity of data and conclusions. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches to research are examined.

Synchronous "Class has scheduled regular meeting days and times; students have the opportunity (but are usually not required) to attend the streaming lecture and participate online in real-time. If students cannot attend the streaming lecture and participate in real-time, then students are required to watch an archived recording of the class lecture.
