Description: Training for national certification as a Career Development Facilitator is provided through 9 units of coursework provided online by CSU Chico. Career Development Facilitators (CDFs) work in a variety of career development settings. A CDF may serve as a career group facilitator, job search trainer, career resource center coordinator, career coach, career development case manager, intake interviewer, occupational and labor market information resource person, human resource career development coordinator, employment/placement specialist, workforce development staff person, or school career center technician. CSU Chico provides the required 120 hours of training for certification; processing of the certification is through the Center for Credentialing and Education in partnership with the National Career Development Association. Related work experience is required in addition to the coursework/training for certification. The three courses required to complete CDF training are each offered once a year online.
