The American Language and Culture Institute (ALCI Chico) welcomes 13 students from NIC International College, Tokyo, Japan who are participating in the annual ALCI Chico Summer Bridge Program on the Chico State campus.

The ALCI Summer Bridge Program is an intensive, five-week schedule of content-based, English language, American culture, academic preparation and activities. This year’s program includes advanced English and a 3-unit art history course. In addition to their academic work, the students will participate in a number of engaging cultural and recreational activities including an Adventure Outings-led rafting trip on the Sacramento River.

“NIC International has been a great University partner for more 20 years. We are very happy to host our NIC friends again. Join me in welcoming our new students to Chico State and our community,” remarked William Dantona, Director of International Development.

ALCI Chico Summer Bridge runs through July 28. After completion of the program, many of the students will start degree coursework at Chico State, Butte College or Shasta College.
