OLLI at CSU, Chico Keeps Lifelong Learners Sharp
It’s the time of year for making New Year resolutions. Unfortunately, we all know how those typically turn out. Within a week, or even 24 hours, we’ve abandoned goals to get fit, master a skill, save money, or volunteer to help others. Old habits are hard to break and creating new ones can take much time and effort.

CHICO, CA — The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSU, Chico has been awarded a $50,000 operating grant by The Bernard Osher Foundation. OLLI at CSU, Chico was invited to apply for the grant after demonstrating significant progress over the past year toward improving fiscal stability, increasing volunteer participation, and expanding campus and community partnerships.

The Center for Regional & Continuing Education and the California State University, Chico Research Foundation will present the 2013 Domestic Violence Update, Nov. 8 on the CSU, Chico campus.

California State University, Chico in partnership with Shasta College, will host an Information Session in Redding to advise potential and current Chico State students on courses and programs offered at the University Center in Redding and online.
The information session is scheduled Thursday, October 10, 6:30p.m. at the Shasta College University Center, 1400 Market Street, downtown Redding.

Over the next two weeks, CSU, Chico will welcome more than 600 youth and educators to three different conferences supporting quality educational programs and professional development for teachers. The first event, the Teachers’ Professional Development for Inland California (Teachers’ PD INC) Summer Conference, will take place July 24–25.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at CSU, Chico is partnering with the Butte County Library in an engaging summer speaker series called “Because You Asked!” This unique educational program is made possible by a generous grant from the California State Library and will showcase local subject experts at five library branches each month from June to August.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), celebrating 25 years at CSU, Chico is now taking reservations for its first Summer Lecture Series featuring community experts in art, psychology, theology, financial health, and communication. Attendees can sign up for individual lectures or series of topics.
