Continuing Education, in collaboration with the Department on Anthropology, is pleased to present Antigua: Betty’s Hope Archaeological Field School, July 4th - August 1st.

This field school is designed to provide students with hands-on training in archaeological field work including; excavation, mapping, surveying, and the analysis and processing of archaeologically recovered material. Students will participate in activities such as field archaeology, weekend field trips and lectures on Antigua’s history.

Betty’s Hope is located on the Caribbean island of Antigua. It is a former British sugar plantation that operated from 1651 until its sale in 1944. The plantation operated continuously for almost 300 years, thus allowing for long-term historical continuity.
