California Attorney General's Office Safe from the Start – Sacramento, CA
The California Attorney General's Safe from the Start Initiative is a comprehensive approach to assure that children grow up in a safe, healthy environment. Recent scientific research shows that young children exposed to violence can be severely and permanently affected by it, even if they are not the intended victims. These children are more likely to suffer increased depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, anger, alcohol and drug abuse, and lower academic achievement.

Child Abuse Prevention Council of Butte County – Chico , CA
The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Butte County is a non-profit corporation that works to educate professionals and the general public about child abuse prevention. We run several programs that assist children, including the Bicycle Helmet Bank for low income children 5 to 14 years of age and our Kases for Kids program, which provides children entering the foster care system a new or gently used suitcase, toiletry items, and a soft cuddly toy. We are currently working with the three area hospitals on a shaken baby prevention program. We provide free Mandated Reporter Training and resource materials for families and service providers covering various parenting topics.
