Session Overview:

Day One

Session 1: The Behavioral Aftermath of Trauma.
During this session stress, trauma and pediatric PTSD will be discussed from a phenomenological and practical perspective.

Session 2: Biological Markers of Stress and Trauma and it will present recent seminal research into the pathogenesis of PTSD early in development.

Day Two

Session 3: Treatment Approaches and will present intervention approaches that have empirical data supporting their effectiveness, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It will also address the role of psychopharmacology in treatment of PTSD symptoms, its severity and its comorbidity. The Stanford Cue-Centered Treatment Model will be introduced.

Session 4: We will expand on this multi-modality approach by using the Cue-Centered protocol.

In addition to learning from a nationally recognized scholar and practitioner, you will walk away from this conference with an array of professional contacts and practical tools. The conference sponsors, presenter, exhibitors, and participants all bring with them a variety of experiences, ideas, theories, programs, and techniques to create an interdisciplinary, kaleidoscopic approach for serving the needs of our most vulnerable children: children in trauma.
