Parents, families, and community members came to a special forum to share personal stories and real-world experiences with bullying. National and local experts from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program – the most researched and best-known bullying prevention program available today – and Youth for Change were on-hand to answer questions, address concerns, and give tools to advocate for your child and others in the community.

Participants received valuable resources for interacting with schools, organizations, and the community at large.

Attendees at the community forum gained a better understanding of:

  • The definition of bullying and why they should be concerned about it
  • The impact of bullying on its victims, the bullies, witnesses, and families
  • What to can do if your child is being bullied or witnesses bullying
  • How families and schools can partner together to put an end to bullying
