Special Session Courses
Special Session courses are approved university course offerings for academic degree or professional development. Special Session courses require an academic department and college approval. Special Session is a great way to meet student demand, explore new course ideas, reach an expanded audience of learners, and teach in a flexible schedule.

Extension Workshops
Extension workshops are designed to provide learning opportunities in a variety of areas for personal and professional development on a non-credit basis and only require the approval of the Center for Regional & Continuing Education.
- Formal admission to CSU, Chico is not required.
- The Extension program is administered through the CSU, Chico Research Foundation.
- Participant fees are what you determine.
- Compensation is divided 50/50 between RCE and the instructor with a percentage to the Chico Research Foundation.
If you are interested in offering an Extension Workshop, please submit a proposal for our review. We have provided some helpful information for completing the proposal form.
