    Make the most of your summer! Get closer to completing your degree, and enjoy the flexibility of an accelerated schedule. Summer Session is a great way to get the classes you need.  Five Summer Session schedules are offered and classes will run from June 1 - August 16, 2016.

    Summer Session is open to continuing and new CSU, Chico students, students who are not yet admitted to Chico State but plan to apply, students from other colleges and universities, international students, qualified high school seniors, and community members.

    Class registration for OLLI’s summer term is now open!

    Culture and creativity feature heavily in the summer offerings, which include a new Local Theater Club, the 2nd Annual OLLI Play Festival, Art Journaling, Creating Your Own Cartoon Characters, Movies at the Pageant Theatre, and Tuesday Tunes. Two local museums are also featured. Pat Macias, President of monca – Museum of Northern California Art – will lead “Four Mysteries of a Museum,” and Adrienne Scott, Curator of Education of the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology, will lead “Anthropology Camp: Think Like a Curator.”

    The Early Start Program (ESP) is a CSU enrollment requirement for first-time freshmen who need help getting ready for college-level English and/or math. Our first classes of the summer, online English and intermediate algebra, begin June 13. Additional classes will be available throughout the summer.     Teachers from across the state begin their on-site professional development training in delivering STEM curricula. Visitng middle school teachers will participate in Design & Modeling, where they will apply the design process to solve problems and understand the influence of creativity and innovation in their lives. They work in teams to design a playground and furniture, capturing research and ideas in their engineering notebooks.

    Teachers from across the state begin their on-site professional development training in delivering STEM curricula. Elementary school teachers will take part in PLTW | Launch, designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade to capture their interest in and spark a lifelong passion for math and science. Middle school teachers will participate in Automation & Robotics, tracing the history, development, and influence of automation and robotics as they learn about mechanical systems, energy transfer, machine automation, and computer control systems.
