ElderCollege Registration ProceduresCSU, Chico ElderCollege is an opportunity for persons aged 60 and older to participate in regularly scheduled University courses on a space-available and non-credit basis. To enroll:Select the class(es) you would like to attend from the CSU, Chico schedule of courses available at http://www.csuchico.edu/schedule/. Course descriptions are available in the CSU, Chico catalog and online. Please keep in mind that changes to the class schedule are reflected in daily updates to the online course schedule on the CSU, Chico web site. Internet access is available at the campus computer stations in the BMU and in Meriam Library. If you would like to discuss options or have questions about the schedule, please contact Continuing Education at 530-898-6105. Pick up registration materials from the Continuing Education office. We will provide a "Dear Professor" letter for you to present to the professor to introduce yourself as a potential ElderCollege student. Attend the first class and ask for permission to participate as an ElderCollege guest in the class. Have the professor confirm approval of your participation by signing your registration form. The "Dear Professor" letter from the Dean of Regional and Continuing Education introduces you to the instructor. Complete the ElderCollege registration form after you have obtained permission from the instructor. Bring the completed registration form and fees (payable by check, VISA, MasterCard, money order or cash) to the Center for Regional and Continuing Education. You may attend any number of classes in a given semester for the $60 fee. After the registration deadline, a $10 fee will apply. If you wish to drop your ElderCollege course(s), you may drop by census date, with only a $15 processing fee. After that date, no refunds will be given. You can obtain a library card when your registration has been completed upon request or a university ID card may be obtained from University Services for an additional fee. As an ElderCollege participant, you are a guest in the class. Participation in graded activities is not required. If you wish to do assignments and take tests, request permission from the instructor. Parking spaces near the campus are limited. The Chico Area Transit System (CATS) or the Butte County Transit buses are convenient options. University parking permits (on sale while supplies last in the Student Services Center, room 230), are $72/semester. Additional parking is available in the City of Chico metered lots.
