About Professional Development UnitsThese courses focus on issues and challenges encountered in professional service and aim to meet the needs of individuals seeking vocational improvement and career advancement. Courses numbered 800 - 899 maybe valid for professional credit at the discretion of local school districts; 800 - level courses do not meet degree or credential requirements and are not calculated in the Grade Point Average. CSU, Chico offers Semester Units. These courses are designed to meet objectives not served by established graduate and undergraduate courses. However, in exceptional cases and with the approval of the appropriate department chair and the dean of your school, they may be applied toward degree and credential programs for which such courses are deemed acceptable. Determination of the acceptability of these courses for degree and credential credit will depend primarily upon course content and approach. If you are considering using these courses for credential or degree purposes, consult with the appropriate department before registering. About California State University, Chico Continuing EducationAs the anchor institution in Northern California, CSU, Chico is dedicated to providing higher education access to this distributed population through regional programs, Open University, and the delivery of accredited certificates and degrees. In addition, to degree programming, every year Continuing Education provides continuing education courses and conferences for dental professionals, nurses, physicians, marriage and family therapists, social workers, psychologists, teachers, peace officers, mediators and custody evaluators, tribal leaders, government managers and attorneys. Requesting UnitsIn addition to your registration request for professional credit, you must also enroll directly with the CTA at www.cta.org to attend the conference. All unit requests will be validated for attendance and completion of required work if it applies. Late requests are subject to the approval from the CTA office, department chair, and college dean which requires a serious & compeling reason. A late fee will also apply. Submit an add/drop form for review. RefundsRefunds are only granted if your request to the Center for Regional & Continuing Education is prior to the day of the conference. If you have not activated a portal account you can do so at www.csuchico.edu/stcp/portal You will need to enter your Chico State Portal ID and date of birth to activate
your account. If we have processed a completed registration request, you would
have received a registration confirmation. In the upper left hand corner you
will find a nine digit number, this is your Chico State ID. If you have already created a CSC Portal account, you can log in at www.csuchico.edu and click the Portal Login link located in the lower right hand corner. This requires your Username - generally your first initial and last name and your unique Password you've already created. Information regarding grades prior to summer 2004 will require a transcript request form available to download at www.csuchico.edu/sro Transcripts are available only through the Student Records & Registration office. You can print a request form for an official trancript by visiting www.csuchico.edu/sro or by calling 530-898-5142 and requesting one to be sent to you.
