Graduation Procedures for M.S. CandidatesFiling for GraduationWithin the first four weeks of the semester you plan to graduate, you must file for graduation. This involves filling out Application for Graduation and Graduation Clearance forms and paying a graduation filing fee of $48. Go to How to Apply for your Masters Degree at the Graduate School web site for the appropriate forms and graduation deadlines. Online graduate students are exempt from the continuous enrollment policy and are not required to be enrolled at Chico the semester they graduate. If you file for graduation for a certain semester, and then later find that you are unable to complete the work, you should contact The Office of Graduate Programs at (530) 898-6880 and re-file for graduation. There is an $8 refiling fee. This will "roll over" your paperwork into the semester you plan to graduate. Please note that all fees are subject to change. Participation in Commencement CeremoniesCommencement ceremonies are held once each year, at the end of the spring semester for students who completed their degrees during that spring or the previous summer or fall. Only those students who have completed all master's degree requirements, including the Thesis, Project, or Analytic Review/ Examination will be allowed to participate in spring commencement exercises. Online students are welcome to come to Chico to participate. |
