See the University Catalog for a full explanation of the graduation requirements . CSU, Chico offers 49 online units toward the completion of a computer science bachelor's degree. Students earning their degree must earn at least 30 units from CSU, Chico to graduate with a CSU, Chico degree. 24 of these units must be taken as a regularly matriculated CSU, Chico student. No more than 70 semester units may be transferred from a community or junior college; the remaining 58 units must be taken at a four-year college or university. California State University, Chico will provide 49-51 units, and the remaining 77-79 units will need to be taken elsewhere, either before or while completing the Chico courses. Individuals who follow this course distribution will meet both the requirements for the major and all other CSU, Chico requirements. Courses numbered 300 - 499 are considered upper-division courses at CSU, Chico. Bachelor's students may also take 500-level courses with the permission of their advisor. Additional CoursesThe following 79 units must be completed at a local college or university (a maximum of 70 may be taken at a junior or community college). Participants will need to identify the school(s) where these courses will be available, and CSU, Chico will work out the articulation agreements directly with those institutions (or see http://www.assist.org/). 16 units lower division requirements in the major to be taken at junior, community, or four-year college/university:

*All bachelor's candidates must demonstrate competency in understanding California state and local government. California students can take POLS 155/355, American government national, state and local, or its equivalent, to satisfy this requirement. Out-of-state students can satisfy this requirement by taking a 3-unit course covering the U.S. Constitution and American Ideals, and passing an exam demonstrating competency in California state and local government. Contact your adviser for information about the exam or see equivalents offered by California Community Colleges via distance education. 15 units chosen from the following:
Within the 9-unit blocks above you must complete at least 3 units in a course concerned primarily with the aspirations and history of ethnic subcultures within the United States (CSU, Chico courses that meet this requirement are designated "Ethnic"), and at least 3 units in a course concerned primarily with cultures and societies outside the Western heritage (CSU, Chico courses that meet this requirement are designated "Non-Western"). Courses may double count for both cultural diversity and GE if selected carefully. Choose one introductory course (3 units) from the following:
